Hashing in Jakarta has a rich history that dates back to the early days of the Hash House Harriers, a non-competitive running social club. The first Hash House Harriers chapter in Jakarta was established in 1984, with the group meeting regularly to run and socialize. Over the years, other chapters emerged and hashing grew and evolved, with the addition of new members and the development of various hashing traditions. Today, the various chapters are an integral part of the city’s running and social scene, offering a unique and enjoyable experience for participants.
What to expect
Jakarta Hashes typically involve a series of clues and challenges that lead participants on a scenic trails. Along the way, you’ll encounter fellow hashers, enjoy the sights, and have plenty of opportunities to take breaks and socialize. After the run, we gather at a designated location to share stories, enjoy refreshments, and celebrate the camaraderie that comes with being a hasher.
